« BackFlags sought for vigil for victims of Thomond Bridge tragedy

The organisers of tonight’s candlelit vigil for the victims of the Thomond Bridge tragedy are urging Kerry people attending to bring county flags.


The event, taking place in Limerick city tonight at 8.30pm, follows the deaths of Castleisland man TJ O’Herlihy and his co-worker Bryan Whelan from Clare who died when the metal cage platform they were working on as they carried out repairs to Thomond Bridge plunged in the river Shannon.

A third man survived the incident.

Limerick women Maureen Joyce and Breda Davis have organised tonight’s event.
