Five Kerry schools are to benefit from funding allocations from the Department of Education.
The money is part of the additional accommodation and emergency works grant.
The announcement has been welcomed by Deputies Brendan Griffin and Arthur Spring and Senator Marie Moloney.
Scoil Eoin, Balloonagh, Tralee has been approved for the construction of two ASD Units for children with autism and six mainstream classrooms.Funding will be provided for St Joseph’s Secondary School, Ballybunion for five classrooms and one classroom ASD Unit.
Scoil Realt na Mara, Tuosist, Killarney and Naomh Gobnait, Castledrum, Castlemaine are approved for the relocation of a prefab and septic tank works and the construction of a staff room, Library/Resource Room respectively.
Knockanes National School, Headford, Killarney is to benefit from the emergency works grant under the “Access for All” grant.
