The first regional alcohol strategy for Kerry and Cork is being launched today aiming to tackle the damage caused by drink.
Alcohol is responsible for 88 deaths every month in Ireland, which equates to over 1,000 deaths per year. Liver disease rates are also rapidly increasing especially in the 15 to 34 age group. The Cork and Kerry Alcohol Strategy Group was established in 2014 to develop a strategic, regional response to Alcohol Misuse in Cork and Kerry.
The launch takes place this afternoon in Cork County Hall.
