The first humpback whale photographed off the Kerry coast back in 2009, has returned to the Kingdom’s waters.
HB-IRL-10 was among four other humpbacks sighted in a feeding frenzy off the Blasket Islands over the weekend.
Whale watchers have described the current level activity off the Dingle Peninsula recently as “truly incredible”.
Along with the humpback whale sightings, minke whales and numerous pods of common dolphin have also been sighted.
Local marine expert, Nick Masset of the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group is leading the search for more blows and breaches off Clogher Head this week.
