« BackFerris calls for extension to herring fishing deadline

A Kerry TD is calling for an extension for the deadline for herring fishing.

Martin Ferris says boats under 17 metres are still carrying quota which they could not fish due to recent bad weather.
The Sinn Fein deputy says due to more bad weather being forecast fishermen are unlikely to be able to get to sea before the December 31st deadline.
Deputy Ferris is calling on Minister Simon Coveney to extend the deadline for at least the month of January depending on how the weather is.
