« BackFarmers seek to speak with north Kerry co-op management

A group of farmers and suppliers to a north Kerry creamery have voiced concern about the facility.

The group of 15 arrived at Newtownsandes Co-Op, Moyvane yesterday morning to deliver a letter outlining their position.

They say they are looking to speak with management at the co-op to discuss the future of the creamery and decisions being made.

In response, chairman of the board of the co-op, Martin Kennelly said there is a membership of around 200 including 70 milk suppliers.

Mr Kennelly said the co-op has been consistently profitable over the last number of years with accounts independently audited annually and an auditor attends the AGM to discuss these accounts.
