« BackFamilies left without water call for immediate action

Brendan Cronin 1Twelve families in mid Kerry have been without water for four days.

A mains breakage on Tuesday and another today has left residents in Barleymount, close to the reservoir, without water.

Kerry County Council has enabled residents to get water from collection points.

However, Cllr Brendan Cronin is calling on Irish Water and the council to provide reservoir tanks for locals during water outages.

Last February, Irish Water announced a 3.5 million euro investment to upgrade infrastructure in mid Kerry – including Barleymount.

Patricia McEnery says she and her neighbours want action now.

She says they’ve been plagued by water breaks for 33 years.
