Enable Ireland Kerry Services is hosting an event this evening where they’ll showcase the latest assistive technology on the market.
For over 30 years the services has used the latest technology to allow people who can’t speak to communicate, and to make movement possible for people who can’t walk.
They say the only barrier to unleashing the potential of this technology is access to it due to cost and availability.
Enable Ireland Kerry Services hopes to develop a centre of excellence, which would make the most up to date technology available to children and adults with disabilities in the county.
They’re holding an event at their building in Oakview Village, Tralee from 6 to 8 this evening where they’ll showcase assistive technology such as an eye-gaze system that allows users to navigate a computer by only using their eyes.
