The emergency services are battling a major fire covering hundreds of acres in part of Killarney National Park.
The National Parks and Wildlife Service is asking the public to stay away from the western section of the National Park, near Tomies Wood. Three units of the fire service are at the blaze which broke out around 7.30 this morning. An Air Corps helicopter is helping firefighters in their attempts to extinguish the blaze. Michael Hession is chief fire officer for Kerry. He wants people to stay away from the area.
