« Back€83,000 allocated for rural recreation projects in Kerry

forestFunding of over €83,000 has been allocated for rural recreation projects in Kerry.

Over €3 million is to be spent nationally on developing new recreational facilities, and maintaining and promoting existing ones.

In Kerry €71,000 is to go towards the Wild Atlantic Way amenity area in Tarbert, while €12,000 is for the Gneeveguilla Walk feasibility study.

Over €1.3 million has been allocated nationally for maintenance of Coillte trails; that includes 16 in Kerry such as Glannageenty, Rossacroo, and Caragh Lake.

The funding has been welcomed by Kerry Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin.
