Kerry County Council has announced funding of €750,000 for various projects across the county’s four municipal districts.
The money hs been granted to various projects in community and voluntary groups. Almost 350 projects across the county are set to benefit from a massive funding boost agreed by local county councillors.
Killarney Chamber of Tourism and commerce is the biggest recipient with a funding boost of €60,000 while the town’s Christmas in Killarney event has been allocated €15,000.
Tralee Chamber Alliance will receive €55,000, while the upcoming Listowel Writers’ Festival has been allocated funding of €12,000.
The biggest allocation of money in the Killorglin district has been received by the town’s Chamber Alliance, who have been granted €7,000.
There was an increase of 50% in funding applications this year and Kerry organisations will be able to apply to the council in November to be eligible for 2017 funding.
