€600,000 worth of upgrading works will begin later this month in Listowel.
Kerry County Council has announced the works on William Street will begin on Monday, September 26th and continue for ten weeks.
The funds are being invested by a number of agencies, including the Council, in the provision of a new road surface and water mains, enhanced storm water drainage and the installation of new gas infrastructure.
Beginning on Monday September 26th, William Street will be fully closed to traffic, both day and night.
No parking will be permitted on William Street and parking will be prohibited on one side of Church Street to enable a two-way traffic flow on Church Street for the duration of the works.
Irish Water will upgrade the water mains, Gas Networks Ireland will install a new gas mains line, and Kerry County Council, in conjunction with TII, will lay a new road surface.
An engineer from Kerry County Council will be on site throughout to liaise with local residents and business owners on a daily basis in relation to traffic management and any other issues which might arise.
