TwoTralee men who broke into the Aquadome for a late night swim have been fined €500 each and remanded on continuing bail to see how they behave.
Eric O’Shea of 17 Loharcannon and Conor Walsh of Ballinorrig South, pleaded guilty to three counts of trespassing at the leisure facility in June last year.
Judge James O’Connor remanded both men on continuing bail to appear before a December sitting of Tralee District Court.
Twenty-one-year-old Eric O’Shea and 22-year-old Conor Walsh pleaded guilty to trespass at the Aquadome on June 22, 23 and 24th last year.
O’Shea’s solicitor Pa Daly told the court it wasn’t a usual trespass as they had just gone for a swim.
He said his client was unemployed at the time but had since ‘cleaned up his act’ and worked part-time in his uncle’s chip shop.
Pat Mann for Walsh said they had entered the Aquadome through a side door and were swimming around late at night.
Judge James O’Connor fined both men €250 each for the first two offences and remanded them on continuing bail to the December 21st sitting of the court.
He said he would review the matter then and if there was any more misbehaviour by either defendant they would face six or seven months in jail.
