Over €31,000 has been sanctioned for the upgrading of a number of halls in West Kerry to allow them to be adapted for Irish courses.
The works will be carried out at Halla na Muirí and Halla Ghort Caide Ghallarus in Baile na nGall and Halla an Mháimín in Ballyferriter.
The funding was announced by the Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Joe McHugh TD.
He said it will help to provide improved facilities for students attending Irish courses.
Last month, Minister McHugh allocated €250,000 for the running of the newly opened Lárionad Forbartha Gaeilge agus Gaeltachta in Ballyferriter.
The centre, which opened at the end of June, cost €3.5 million to develop.
€3,000 was also sanctioned by the Minister last month for Ballyferriter’s Comharchumann Forbartha Chorca Dhuibhne to develop an online administrative system.
