There was double success for Kerry at the Agricultural Journalism Awards last night.

Radio Kerry’s Aisling O’Brien won Best Radio Programme/Story at the black-tie event in Dublin.

The award was in recognition for Aisling’s Agritime show on the South Kerry Greenway project entitled, ‘Whose Land Is It Anyway?’.

Commenting on the award the judges said it was a great example of the power and effectiveness of a well researched and well produced radio programme getting to grips with the practicalities of life on the land and the attachment people have for it.

Renowned Kerry photographer Valerie O’Sullivan also had success winning the best photograph award for her Farmers Journal photo ‘One Girl and Her Dog’ which features Tara Foley from Kilgobnet in Beaufort.

The national awards recognise excellence in the coverage of farming, food and rural live.
