A dog unit will tomorrow join the search for a man missing in Tralee.
54-year-old William Mulvihill of Ozanam Villas, Ballybunion was last seen opposite the new John Mitchel’s GAA pitch on the Tralee Bypass last Friday.
The Garda helicopter was involved in the search for a time today.
William Mulvihill is described as being 5′ 3” in height, bald, and with a moustache, and was last seen wearing a brown jacket, blue shirt, and blue jeans.
Gardaí launched an appeal for his whereabouts last Friday, after he hadn’t been since the previous Sunday, the 21st of August.
Following this Gardaí received a new sighting – opposite the new John Mitchels GAA pitch on the Tralee Bypass last Friday, the 26th of August.
The Garda helicopter was involved in the search this lunchtime, taking in Kielduff, the Tralee Bypass, Clash, Oakpark, and the Abbeydorney road; however, there were no sightings of Mr Mulvihill.
The search of these areas will resume tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock with SARDA, the Search And Rescue Dog Association.
Sergeant Mick McCarthy of Ballybunion Garda Station is again asking landowners in the Tralee area to check any property that front onto main roads in the area.
Any sightings of William Mulvihill should be reported to Tralee, Listowel, or Ballybunion garda stations.
