A guesthouse in Dingle, once rumored to have accomodated Hollywood superstar Julia Roberts, has scooped two national awards.
Greenmount House was named ‘Country House of the Year’ and also took top honours for ‘Guesthouse Breakfast of the Year’ at the 2016 Georgina Campbell Awards. The winners were selected following anonymous visits by independent inspectors who paid their own way. Greenmount House was established by John and Mary Curran and is now run by their son Gary, a former manager of the Brehon in Killarney. The guesthouse is widely believed to be where Julia Roberts de-camped to, following her break-up with actor Kiefer Sutherland. Seán Connery and a number of other high profile stars have also stayed there.
