« BackDingle native O’Toole says Government knew his opinion on water charges

The Dingle native stood down this week amid controversy over comments he made on water charges.

He said the commission needed to find a way to make the – medicine go down – when it came to getting people to pay the bills.

Speaking to the Irish Times Mr O’Toole says he told Minister Simon Coveney his views before giving him the job.

Former chair of the Labour Court Kevin Duffy is expected to be appointed as his replacement.
