The Taoiseach says he respects the UK’s position on voting to leave the EU.
Speaking following an emergency cabinet meeting Enda Kenny said the Government has prepared for this eventuality.
He says there will be a number of key actions and the government will work to protect and advance this country’s interests.
The Dáil’s being recalled on Monday for a special meeting to discuss Brexit – while the opposition will be briefed this afternoon on the Government’s plans.
Mr Kenny says he wants to reassure the public that contingency measures are in place.
