Crisis pregnancy service Cura is to close down its centre in Tralee after 26 years.
Tralee has been earmarked as one of seven provincial centres to close, with all Cura services to be delivered through four main hubs in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Waterford.
There will be no job losses as a result of the restructuring programme, but that many of the organisation’s 160 trained volunteers would be redeployed to the hubs.
In a statement, the Catholic Communications Office says the organisation remains committed to providing counselling to those who need it.
The Tralee Cura centre opened in 1990 at the back of the St John’s Parish Centre in the town centre.
