« BackCouncillors seeking economic forum-style gathering for Kerry Diaspora

The Kerry Diaspora have a key role to play in the county’s economic future.
That’s according to Fine Gael Councillor Jim Finucane who has called on Kerry County Council to host a gathering of the county’s diaspora to promote and seek a tenant for the new 25,000 square foot IDA unit in Kerry Technology Park.

Cllr Finucane said the hosting of a forum of Kerry Diaspora once a year could help bring investment – and going forward could potentially lessen dependence on the IDA.
Sinn Féin Cllr Toireasa Ferris agreed with Cllr Finucane’s proposal, adding that some type of business awards scheme could be devised for Kerry people abroad.
