Councillors have given the green light for the development of 15 houses in the Mitchel’s area of Tralee.
The plans also involve the demolition of five existing dwellings, and the construction of a new road and car parking at Clonmore, Tralee.
Kerry County Council plans to construct 15 new units in the Mitchel’s area of Tralee – they comprise 11 three and four bedroom, two-and-a-half storey terrace units at Cróilár Na Mistaelach; and four houses on Mitchel’s Road – a mix of three, four, and five bedroom detached and semi-detached houses.
The plans also involve the demolition of five existing dwellings – three in Mitchel’s Road and two in Mitchel’s Crescent.
A new road will be constructed, connecting Cróilár Na Mistaelach with Mitchel’s Road, car parking will also be developed on Mitchel’s Road, and a new CCTV pole with three cameras will be erected.
Following a period of public consultation, Director of Services Michael Scannell recommended the works proceed, and councillors agreed to this at the recent Tralee Municipal District meeting.
