« BackCouncillors back motion on sympathising at funerals

Kerry councillors have backed a motion to ask the Bishop of Kerry to allow time for people to sympathise after funerals.

The motion was moved by Independent councillor Dan McCarthy and seconded by Cllr Michael Gleeson of the South Kerry Independent Alliance.

Cllr McCarthy said he wasn’t trying to tell the bishop what he should be doing but as a public representative he had to raise the issue.

Cllr Gleeson said it would introduce a more dignified way for people to sympathise.
