A Fianna Fail councillor has called on Kerry County Council to be ‘generous’ in respect of accommodation works including underpasses and overpasses along the proposed South Kerry Greenway.
According to Cllr Michael Cahill this was necessary to ensure that the concerns of the majority of landowners were addressed so the project, which he said is vital for the county, could come to fruition.
Kerry County Council said they have held two days of public consultation in Cahersiveen recently on the development of the Greenway in South Kerry.
Approximately 200 people attended the consultations and issues regarding accommodation works were discussed with many landowners.
The council said they will work with farmers and other affected landowners to address the concerns that exist on the Greenway and put in place the appropriate infrastructure and accommodation works required.
