William Mulvihill missing manA Kerry County Councillor is calling for an inquiry into University Hospital Kerry in connection with the disappearance of William Mulvihill.

Mr Mulvihill, from Ballybunion, has been missing since being seen in Tralee on August 21st.

Councillor Robert Beasley claims Mr Mulvihill had been a patient in University Hospital Kerry in Tralee, but discharged himself.

He then called to a house looking for directions; a woman there alerted Gardaí as she felt Mr Mulvihill looked disorientated.

Gardaí brought him to the hospital, but staff there reportedly refused to take him in as he had already signed himself out and there’s a policy not to readmit such a person for 24 hours.

Cllr Beasley feels this policy shouldn’t be in place, and believes Mr Mulvihill should have been admitted.

University Hospital Kerry said it won’t be commenting on the matter.
