A Fine Gael councillor wants An Taisce to be brought before an Oireachtas committee to account for who’s funding its latest legal challenge to the N86 Dingle to Camp road.
Seamus Cosaí Fitzgerald wants An Taisce’s audited accounts and details of private donations to be published each year.
He’s also calling for representatives from the environmental watchdog to be removed from any council committees associated with economic development or job creation.
Chief executive of Kerry County Council, Moira Murrell urged caution in light of ongoing legal proceedings.
She said although in her view An Taisce was wrong, it had a right to take the road it was taking.
But Cllr Fitzgerald says An Taisce has questions to answer.
