« BackCouncil to pay rent for residents stranded following landslide

Kerry County Council has offered to assist with the cost of temporary accommodation for the residents of homes which have been cut off following a landslide in mid-Kerry.

There is now no vehicular access to 17 homes on the Cliff Road at Rossbeigh following the slippage along the cliff face last week.

The council is yet to finalise costings for remedial works but it is believed up to €500,000 will be required to strengthen the cliff face and replace the collapsed section of road.

In cases where residents have to move out of their homes on a temporary basis, Kerry County Council says it will help with the cost of rental accommodation.
