Councillor Michael Gleeson is asking the council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland to devise a system to ease delays for drivers coming out from the Woodlawn/Ballycasheen Road onto the N22.

He claims drivers are waiting up to 10 minutes to emerge, and are getting frustrated and taking chances.

Kerry County Council says Transport Infrastructure Ireland has indicated that the current traffic calming layout from Lissivigeen Cross to Daly’s roundabout should be examined, and a feasibility report prepared for any necessary works.

The junction of the Ballycasheen/Woodlawn road and the N22 will be examined as part of this.

A design will be completed and costed, and a submission forwarded to TII for consideration; it’s proposed to make the proposal before year end.

Kerry Independent Alliance Councillor Michael Gleeson says the junction has always been bad, but it’s getting worse, and people’s lives are being put at risk.
