Speaking at a meeting of the South and West Kerry Municipal District, area manager Martin O’Donoghue said that agreement on twinning proposals is a matter for elected councillors.

He said Killorglin is currently at an advanced stage of twinning with a town in Germany.

The new guidelines aim to bring clarity to the procedures around twinning particularly following the abolition of the three town councils in the county.
