« BackCouncil says algal scum has receded on Lough Leane

Kerry County Council says there has been a significant reduction in algal bloom on the county’s largest lake.
Lough Leane, Killarney
Last week, the council reported that an algal scum had appeared on parts of the shoreline of Lough Leane and advised members of the public to exercise caution.
The council says up to date examination of the lake by their central laboratory indicates a significant improvement with no visual signs of the algal blooms or scum which had been present last week.
Further sampling and testing are ongoing and the situation will continue to be monitored over the coming days.
