« BackCouncil explores providing free wi-fi in more Kerry tourist spots this summer

Kerry County Council is looking into providing free wi-fi in tourism areas.
It’s part of the authority’s strategic objective and has been included in its submission to the Department of Energy, Communications and Natural Resources’ national broadband plan.
Free wi-fi will also form a key element of the Kerry County Tourism Strategy 2016-2020, a meeting of the Listowel Municipal District has heard.
A pilot project in four tourism areas in 2015 proved a great success and this will be extended further in 2016, if funding is available.
The issue was raised at the meeting by Fianna Fáil’s Jimmy Moloney.
