The Kilcummin Sewerage Scheme is expected to go out to tender early next year.
However according to Senior Engineer with Kerry County Council Colm Mangan the route of the sewerage scheme is not yet known.
The scheme is included in the Irish Water Capital Investment Plan 2014-2016 and Irish Water has informed the council that the scheme will be constructed. Last January Mr Mangan told Killarney Municipal District that Irish Water said it would make a decision on the type of sewerage scheme for Kilcummin by last March. At this month’s meeting of the municipal district, Mr Mangan assured councillors that the money for the project will not be lost. €1.3 million was allocated for the scheme by Irish Water last year as part of the Capital Investment Programme.
