« BackCouncil criticised for delay in adapting home of elderly Killorglin stroke victim

An elderly Killorglin woman who can no longer climb stairs after suffering a stroke, is returning home from hospital tomorrow, to a house that’s totally unsuited to her needs.

That’s according to the woman’s daughter Anne O’Sullivan, who says her 71-year-old mother can no longer wash herself or go to the bathroom unaided.

The woman was approved for an adaption grant by Kerry County Council in November 2014, because of disabilities she acquired as result of Meniere’s Disease.

However, the adaption works – which comprise downstairs toilet and washing facilities – have not yet been carried out, and she has also suffered a stroke in the meantime.
