Kerry County Council is being called on to prioritise a footpath for the Killarney road in Killorglin.
The issue was raised at the South and West Kerry Municipal District meeting by Fianna Fáil Councillor Michael Cahill.
He claims it’s the most dangerous section of road in the country, and it’s busy with residents and people staying in the caravan park and holiday homes.
Senior Executive Engineer with the council Pádraic Teahan said Transport Infrastructure Ireland select and fund all schemes, but the council submitted 10 priority schemes and this included the Killarney road pavement improvement.
He said the council will be having further talks with TII about this scheme, and Cllr Michael Cahill says this is welcome news for a road which is part of the Ring of Kerry.
