« BackCouncil advises precautions ahead of expected heavy rainfall

A Status Orange weather warning comes into effect for Kerry at midnight tonight.
Flood Sign
Earlier this morning, Met Éireann upgraded its warning from yellow to orange for a number of counties.

Prolonged falls of very heavy rain are expected overnight tonight and during tomorrow.

Totals of up to 50mm are forecast and larger totals can be expected on higher ground.

Met Éireann says further flooding is likely across the county.

Kerry County Council is advising property owners, particularly in areas prone to flooding to take appropriate measures to minimise the risk of flooding to their properties.

Council staff are assessing the situation and regular updates will be provided through the local media, on the Council website and on Twitter.
