Kerry County Council has hired consultants to carry out a traffic management study in Killarney.
The study by Malachy Walsh and Partners will create a traffic model of existing traffic patterns and future road improvement proposals.
The study will examine the main junctions in Killarney and make recommendations on any improvements that can be made.
It will also examine the junction outside the St Mary’s Cathedral.
Cllr Donal Grady has asked that this be returned to its original layout, with two lanes; one for turning up towards New Street and the other towards the Port Road.
Complaints about the redesign of at the top of High Street have been received and public meetings have taken place about the current work on Muckross road.
