Conradh na Gaeilge is asking every candidate to back its plan for the Irish language and Gaeltacht areas.
The organisation’s looking for:
An investment of €18 million to expand the use of Irish and to create more than one thousand jobs;
A Cabinet Minister for the Irish language and the Gaeltacht;
and the establishment of a joint Oireachtas committee for the language and Irish speaking regions.
Conradh na Gaeilge says Fianna Fáil, Sinn Féin, the Anti-Austerity Alliance and People Before Profit have given their support to these proposals.
