« BackConcerns raised over funding for mid Kerry road

Cliff RoadTwo Kerry Councillors have voiced their concerns over a recent funding allocation towards the building of a new road in Mid Kerry.

The Department of Transport is to give over half a million euro towards the estimated €1.1 million cost of building a new road above the Cliff Road, in Rossbeigh, part of which fell into the sea.

Fianna Fáil Cllr John Francis Flynn and Independent Cllr Michael Cahill have raised concerns that Kerry County Council will have to meet the remaining balance.

The tenders for the project will be back in by early April with the project expected to commence in May but Cllr Cahill says there is a possibility of the cost going up when the tenders come in.
