The communications watchdog is advised anyone in Kerry out of pocket due to a new phone scam to contact their mobile phone operator.
In recent days some people in the county have reported getting calls from a number in Somalia from a seemingly destressed child or woman.
Some people who called back the number have been charged over 40 euro.
Communications Manager with ComReg Tom Butler says people should not answer their phone to unfamiliar numbers and if someone genuinely needs help they will leave a voicemail.
