A committee of residents and businesses on the Muckross Road in Killarney has been formed to demand a temporary halt to roadworks which they say are having an adverse affect in the area.
250 people attended a public meeting last night to discuss the ongoing works on Muckross Road which involve a realignment to accommodate cyclists and traffic flow.
Kerry County Council says the need for a traffic calming scheme was identified in a national survey of accident locations by Transport infrastructure Ireland – formerly the NRA.
But locals say there was no consultation.
Chairman of the new committee, Don Culloty, says businesspeople and residents have had enough:
