Met Éireann has issued a Code Level Orange rainfall warning for Kerry.
60 to 80mm of rain is expected today, tonight and through much of Tuesday with up to 100 mm possible in mountainous areas.
The highest rainfall amounts is expected in the and south-west of the county.
Kerry County Council Media & Communication Officer Owen O’Shea is urging the public to be vigilant, especially while driving.
He says the worst affected areas are expected to be the Dingle and Iveragh Peninsula:
The warning is valid until 6 o’clock tomorrow evening – the council has set up an emergency number:
Sandbags are being provided in Dingle, Caherciveen, Sneem and Kenmare.
Kerry County Council has set up an emergency number which members of the public can call if there are any emergencies.
