Motorists are advised to take extreme caution on the county’s roads this morning as a Code Orange rainfall warning remains in place.
Kerry County Council has advised the Inny Bridge on the N70 road between Caherciveen and Waterville is now open to traffic on one lane only for the time being. This may change if rainfall continues and river levels rise again.
The R565 road from the N70 towards Portmagee near the village is now passable having been closed earlier.
The road out of Portmagee towards St Finian’s Bay remains closed following a land slippage and is likely to remain closed for some time.
Spot flooding remains an issue on many roads in the greater Cahersiveen/Waterville area.
The Code Orange weather warning is in place until 3 o’clock this afternoon.
