« BackCo-ordinated approach from Kerry and Cork to get Macroom Bypass built

A co-ordinated approach is being planned by councillors in Kerry and Cork in a bid to get the Macroom Bypass project brought forward.Road3

A cross-border delegation is planning to travel to Dublin to impress on the Transport Minister the importance of the project.

It was recently announced that the project would not go ahead until 2020 at the earliest.

The Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council Michael O’Shea says the 12 kilometre project will cost 150 million and given the limited budget allocated to Transport Infrastructure Ireland there will be cherry-picking of what developments get the green light.
