A Kerry County Councillor says he is hopeful a new business may take over the Kerry Spring site.
The liquidator appointed to the west Kerry bottled water company announced last Friday that the company was to close after a buyer failed to materialise.
35 employees, some of whom have worked with the Ballyferriter company since it began, have lost their jobs as a result.
40 potential buyers had expressed an interest in the business.
Cllr Seamus Cosai Fitzgerald is also on the of board Udaras na Gaeltachta.
