A Kerry County Councillor says three quarters of his work and that of his colleagues is made up of housing queries.
Sinn Fein’s Pa Daly has described the issue of social housing in Kerry as “chaotic out there”.
He says the issue is being outsourced to the housing market which is not set up to cater for social housing.
Cllr Daly says the issue has become so pronounced in recent weeks that up to 80 or 90 per cent of the workload of councillors relates to housing.
He gave the following examples of calls in the past two weeks:
