« BackCivil Defence to utilise drones in search for missing Ballybunion man

The search effort for a missing Ballybunion man is to continue over the weekend.

 

The last confirmed sighting of 54-year-old William Mulvihill of Ozanam Villas, Ballybunion was on August 21st, in the area of the Kielduff roundabout.

Gardaí have been carrying out extensive searches for Mr Mulvihill throughout the week with the assistance of the Garda Helicopter and the SARDA specialist dog unit.

 

Ballybunion Sergeant Mick McCarthy has confirmed the Civil Defence will join tomorrow’s search effort.

 

Drone technology is to be utilised in surveying the area between John Mitchels and the Listowel Road Roundabout.

On Sunday the search effort will intensify further – as Gardaí, the Civil Defence and the dog unit are joined by locals and members of Mr Mulvihill’s family.

 

Sunday’s search is to concentrate on the Abbeydorney to Stack’s Mountain region.

 

William Mulvihill is described as being 5′ 3′ in height, bald, and with a moustache, and was last seen wearing a brown jacket, blue shirt, and blue jeans.

 

Gardaí in Listowel are renewing their appeal to landowners and farmers to check their properties for any sign of Mr Mulvihill.
