Joonas Suotamo, the actor who has helped bring Chewbacca to life in Star Wars, has sent a special message to the people of Dingle.
Chewbacca caused a stir when he visited a Ballyferriter school during the week.

School children at Scoil an Fheirteáraigh in Ballyferriter had sent artwork to the Ceann Sibéal set of Star Wars where Mark Hamill, Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley had been filming all week.
To their delight, Chewbacca arrived at the school in a top secret and surprise visit.
The children got to meet their hero and played the Star Wars theme on the tin whistle and bosca cheoil and even taught Chewbacca cúpla focal.
Joonas Suotamo is a 6 foot 10′, Finnish basketball player who helped bring Chewbacca to life with Peter Mayhew in Star Wars Episode VII.
He will do so again in Star Wars Episode VIII.
