The CEO of the South West Counselling Centre says how we deal with sex offenders needs to include the availability of pornography to young people.

Last night, a Would You Believe documentary on RTE focused on sex offenders and how society deals with them.

The show highlighted that 40 per cent of sex offenders are underage from all socio-economic backgrounds and may be known to their victims.

Lindsay Fredman is a clinical psychologist who spent 25 years counselling victims of sexual abuse and assault in South Africa.

She says this is a complex issue and what can lead people to offend, such as pornography, needs to be tackled:
