« BackCarrantuohill climber yet to be formally identified

A man who lost his life on Carrantuohill last Saturday has yet to be formally identified.

The man, said to be Irish and in his 50s, fell from the steep northern face of the mountain.Gardaí

Kerry Mountain Rescue, Shannon Rescue Helicopter 115 and Valentia Coast Guard assisted emergency services in co-ordinating the man’s retrieval.

The man’s body was brought to University Hospital Kerry.

Gardaí in Killorglin said while the matter is under investigation, they are following a definite line of enquiry in formally identifying the man.
