A councillor is calling on the Bishop of Kerry to get tough on political collections outside churches.
The comments follow those of the Bishop of Elphin Kevin Doran who told political parties to go collect somewhere else as some of the policies they advocate go against Catholic teachings.
A statement from the Diocese of Kerry says the matter is not an issue at present.
However, Independent Cllr Brendan Cronin believes Kerry should follow the lead of the Diocese of Elphin on this matter.
He says these collections can intimidate some churchgoers:
